Join Beekeepers of the Neuse as we celebrate National Honey Bee Day on August 17 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. This event is free and open to the public at Old Waynesborough Park located at 801 U.S. Highway 117 South, Goldsboro, NC. Come out for a day of family fun and learn about honey bees and beekeeping. See how honey is extracted, check out beekeeping equipment, make your own natural beeswax candle, and find the queen in a living honey bee observation hive. Children’s activities include arts and crafts, temporary tattoos and games. Members of the Beekeepers of the Neuse will answer your honey bee and beekeeping questions. Master Gardeners will be on hand to discuss how you can help the survival of the honey bee. Local, raw honey will be available for sale. Enjoy live music, farm equipment and food vendors. Mark your calendar for this event and be amazed by importance of the honey bee! See you there.
