A unique crime/drug prevention event held every year at Herman Park. People in the community are encouraged turn off their porch light and come out to this huge community event put together by the Goldsboro Police Department, with help from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the Goldsboro Housing Authority. The design behind National Night Out is to bring crime and drug awareness, generate support and participation in local anti crime programs, strenghthen neighborhood spirit, and police community partnership, and send criminals a message to let them know that communities are united and ready to fight back.
