Business at Breakfast
With the partnership of Mt. Olive Pickle Company, we welcome Selena Bennett as she presents an informative Business at Breakfast program on Communities in Schools. This program is free to all Chamber members, and $5 to non-members. The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Communities In Schools of Wayne County is part of the national Communities In Schools network, which is the leading dropout prevention organization in the country. Established in 1989, this network builds partnerships with North Carolina counties to set up local 501(c) 3 nonprofits, called Communities In Schools affiliates, to work directly with the students in our community. CIS of Wayne County supports students by recruiting tutors and mentors to work with individual students, through a school supply drive every year, by hiring Success Coaches in selected middle and high schools in the county, and by operating a Teen Court program for first-time juvenile offenders.
