The public is invited to attend a "lunch and learn" lecture on China by Dr. Neil Bolick, associate director of World View, an international program for educators at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The talk will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 5, in the Seminar Room (Room 161) of the Wayne Learning Center on Wayne Community College’s main campus in Goldsboro. There is no charge.
Mr. Bolick will speak on his experiences in China from an academic and personal perspective. His presentation will last approximately 50 minutes.
Mr. Bolick is holds a bachelor’s degree in English from UNC-Chapel Hill and doctorate degree in Chinese language and literature from Indiana University. He taught English language and literature in Taiwan and Chinese literature in the U.S., and ran a consulting firm for international business. Mr. Bolick lived in Taiwan and China for five years as a student, teacher, and Fulbright scholar. As an international business consultant, he traveled regularly to Asia, South America, and Europe.
This talk is one in a series designed to increase global awareness. It is a component of WCC's Global Education Plan that is guided by the college’s Cultural Diversity/Global Education Task Force.
