Mary Poppins Ballet School Synopsis
Goldsboro Ballet is presenting the Mary Poppins Ballet School Synopsis for both public and private school children's pleasure on Friday, March 12th during the day for a field trip option. The Mary Poppins Ballet takes you to the Banks House on Cherry Tree Lane where you will see Mr. Banks wishing to hire a stern disciplarian Nanny for his two children. Mrs. Banks is so busy with her Women's Right to Vote campaign that she hardly has time for her children. The Nanny, Mary Poppins gets the job and then begins her magic with the children. The fact that she can fly is amazing to the Michael and Jane, who get very excited about the prospects of taking adventures with Mary. The ballet takes you to the Park, the Fair, and later on a wild time in the bank, where Mr. Banks works and hoardes all his money. The Bird Lady appears throughout the ballet as a reminder that Mary Poppins loves life around her, even the humblest of creatures such as the birds that the Bird Lady always cares for. The ballet revels in the goodness that Mary Poppins brings to the lives of these rich but poorly taken care of children. You will love all the antics that Mary Poppins provides the audience, including the teaching of those around her how to fly! This is all done with dance and narration of the storyline. Mary Franklin, a PE Teacher at Brogden Primary and dance instructor, is Assistant Director of Goldsboro Ballet and has written this ballet, found music appropriate for the story and redesigned the ballet to the 2010, Second Edition! Her Mom, Director, Peggy Wingate has helped to choreograph the ballet and secured the services of Dr. Delbert Hall owner of Flying Effects to come and teach the flying.
