Meet the Artist
You are invited to Plum Tree Gardens Gallery "Meet the Artist" series Friday August 21, 2009 from 5:00 - 7:30pm. Enjoy a glass of wine and a bit of cheese with jewelers Christine Wright and Kristin Neiman.
Again on Saturday August 22, from 10:00am - 3:00pm Christine and Kristin will be available with new collections of jewelry. If you have something special in mind, inquire about a custom order.
All arts and crafts at the gallery are for sale. Potters Andy Best, Randy Wright, and Karin Thompson, basket makers Uli Shepard, Susanna Miller, Ingrid Quick and Renee Sauls, photographer Nelda Sharkey and painter Joanne Lesak are represented in the gallery. Certified American Indian artists Dreamweaver, Silver Butterfly and Tuscaroran cultural chief Elijah Locklear have a selection of watercolors and photography; dreamcatchers, medicine bags, and painted gourds; and hand-carved wooden dough bowls.
Currently the ECU-PCC Evergreen Design Team designs are on display for the First People Heritage Center to be constructed in Wayne County. Mark your calendars for the first project fund-raiser November 14, 2009, 6:00 - 8:30pm "DRUMS" at the Paramount. Five drum groups, American Indian, African American, Jamaican, Celtic, and Contemporary, accompanied by soloists and dancers will perform. A floating "Meet the Performers" After-Party will be held at five restored historic homes from 9:00 - 11:00pm.
Punch, wine, heavy hors-d'oeuvres, coffee and dessert will be served. Concert tickets are $25.00 and VIP tickets include the concert with reserved seating and the after-party for $50.00. All tickets are tax-deductible.
