Please join us for the "Meet the Artist" series featuring "Silver Butterfly" on Friday evening, May 15 from 5:00 - 7:30pm with wine and cheese. "Silver Butterfly" will also be at Plum Tree Gardens Bed and Breakfast Gallery on Saturday from 10:00am - 5:00pm. The gallery is located at 109 South George Street, historic Goldsboro. The gallery is curated by Grandpa’s Children, Inc., a non-profit American Indian organization. Gallery space, advertising, and refreshments are donated by Plum Tree Gardens Bed and Breakfast. For more information please call Dreamweaver or Joanne at 919-736-9412.
American Indian Judy Newsome Hood, certified member of the Tuscaroran tribe, will have traditional spirit bags, dream catchers and prayer feathers for sale. The tradition of the dreamcatcher, available in three sizes, is that good dreams flow through the hole in the center while bad dreams are caught in the webbing. In the morning the sunlight burns away the bad dreams. The small sizes are available for hanging in a car or from the headboard of a bed. Medium sizes are perfect for hanging in windows and the larger ones are impressive hanging on a wall. You may have a dreamcatcher created especially for yourself or as a gift. The piece is designed based on the individual's birth date, which suggests what colors, stones, and feathers will be used.
