MOUNT OLIVE- Mount Olive College will host its sixth annual International Showfest on Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 in the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center. Students from Brazil, Norway, Venezuela, Iceland, Canada, Sweden, Romania and Australia will have table displays with information on their homelands and their cultures, as well as samples of authentic foods from around the world.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for our international students to showcase their home countries and share their customs and cultures," stated Julie Beck, director of Student Activities at MOC and the event coordinator. "The International Club enjoys hosting this event for the students and the Mount Olive community so that others can not only learn about other lifestyles and traditions but also experience them."
The International Showfest is an opportunity to taste, experience, and appreciate the variety of life in other countries. The event, sponsored by the International Club, is free and the public is invited to attend. For more information, contact Julie Beck at 919-658-2502.
