New Year's Eve Pickle Drop at Mt. Olive Pickle Company
Count down the last of 2008 as a three-foot glowing pickle descends the company's flagpole at the stroke of 7 o'clock midnight. (When it's 7 p.m. EST, it's actually midnight Greenwich Mean Time. We are official, we shout Happy New Year, and we are home in bed long before midnight.) Join us at 6 o'clock for live music and free refreshments. Bring canned food for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and receive a chance to win door prizes. But get here early: the whole thing's over at 7:05.
