The Southern Bank office located at 121 East Main Street in downtown Mount Olive will host a Shred-a-Thon on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The Shred-a-Thon is open to the public. Participants will be allowed to shred up to 30 pounds of their sensitive documents for free. Sensitive items may include: bank statements, outdated check stubs, unused checks from closed accounts, receipts, tax documents, credit card offers and more.
The Shred-a-Thon is being co-sponsored by the North Carolina Attorney General's office and Cintas Document Shredding.
There will be a drawing for a free home shredder at the end of the Shred-a-Thon event.
