Y Men's Celebration
The Goldsboro Family YMCA will be hosting it’s annual Y’s Men Celebration on Thursday December 18 at 6pm at the YMCA!!! This is a project in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County, Wayne Uplift and area churches. Each year we adopt approximately 30 families from these agencies for Christmas. Each family receives gift certificates to purchase Christmas items. The night of the celebration we will feed the families and then volunteers will take the parent/guardian shopping and we will entertain the children.
I am in need of volunteers to take families shopping and to help us entertain the children. If you are free on that evening and would like to help out please let me know.
I am also in need of monetary donations to make this event possible. If you would like to donate a gift card or money to purchase gift cards please let me know. I realize that the economy is very strained right now, but this gives you an opportunity to help someone in need. Do something positive for your community and your neighbor. I can tell you from past experience, these families are so grateful and without this event, most would not be able to celebrate Christmas.
